Bronze, Burnout, and Everything In Between

We just won bronze for Best Marketing Agency in Best of Penticton 2026.

And I'm not going to lie. It felt really, really good.

But behind that win, were a lot of things we don’t share with you on Instagram.

There were late nights that ended way too late and early mornings that started way too early. Client losses that stung even when I knew they weren't my fault. Days where I was on a Zoom call with a baby next to me wondering if I was doing any of it well enough. Workouts that were the only thing keeping me sane. Moments of doubt that showed up even on the good days.

So the next time you're scrolling and comparing yourself to the "7-figure business owner" living their highlight reel, remember that you're not seeing the years of hard lessons, the setbacks, the ugly cries, or the very real moments of "what am I even doing."

Here's what I know after 10 years of building this.

Dips in Business Aren’t Personal (Even Though They Feel Like It)

You can deliver 5-star quality, but at the end of the day, sometimes it doesn’t make a difference. When clients leave, 9 times out of 10 it’s due to factors outside of your control. Knowing that doesn't make the doubt disappear, but it does make it easier to keep going.

You Can Have It All (But THERE WILL BE TIMES IT WILL COST YOU)

The flexibility of running a 100% remote business is unmatched, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But in the same breath, nobody warns you about the inability to switch off when your business lives on your laptop.

I mentally juggle being a present mom and a present boss every single day. You can have both, but the time, dedication, and patience required do catch up to you.

PERFECTION DOESN’T exist (and it shouldn’t have to)

No day ever truly feels like an off day.

Your professional goals matter, but your personal goals should matter to you just as much. Learning to prioritise that can come with so many mental hurdles.

Sometimes, you just have to accept that perfection doesn’t exist - and you don’t need to operate at 100% every single day to make progress.

The Takeaway

I wouldn’t trade my life for the world. I love what I do and cherish the life my business has allowed me to live. But none of this happened overnight. It took years of learning, setbacks, and growth. . . mentally, physically, and emotionally.

It’s okay to have days where you celebrate. But it’s also okay to have days where you spiral.

What matters most is how you show up for your team, your clients, and yourself.

If you want a partner who can help guide you through the tough side of business and the things nobody talks about, I’d love to be that for you. Click here to explore what One-to-One Mentorship with me looks like.
