How you’re “supposed to” scale your business

I didn’t do what I was “supposed to do” with my VA agency, and I’m so glad I didn’t!

Everyone in my industry was launching VA systems and operations templates. It seemed like the logical next step for me — the thing I was “supposed to do”.

So, I started working on it…and immediately felt like I was dragging dead weight. It didn’t light me up, and I wasn’t excited about it.

Here’s what I realized.

If something in your business feels like a chore, it’s going to flop.

If you’re forcing yourself to care, your audience will feel it.

If you’re just following the crowd, you’re not actually leading.

Half-assing something just because it’s “what everyone else is doing” is a guaranteed way to waste your time.

So I scrapped the idea.

I stopped trying to do what made sense on paper and kept building Champagne Collective my way.

And guess what?! That’s why I’m here today —because I chose what lit me up instead of what “should” have been next.

Your reminder.

Your gut feeling should be your guiding light in business.

The kind that comes from experience, self-awareness, and knowing what true alignment feels like for you.

It’s that quiet inner nudge that says “this isn’t right”, even when the numbers look good. It’s the rush of clarity when something just clicks, even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else.

If you’re dreading it, if it drains you, or if you’re forcing it — it’s not the right move.

This is your permission slip to make up your own rules and to hell with everyone else's!
